FAQ - Troubleshooting
Q: We have just black / blue screen / or writing no signal ?
A: Check that you are on the correct input on your TV. We often find that customers are pressed something on the TV remote control, and thus is not in the correct input.
You dont know what you use , for example, HDMI1, HDMI2, AV1, AV2..... etc, is to take power from the IP box – put the power back. (This way you know for sure that IP TV box is turned.) – Do NOT touch the IP TV box remote control!
Then, you try to switch the input on your TV until you find the right - that is, through the "SOURCE" - "AV" or "INPUT" on your TV remote control
B: Check if the HDMI or AV cable works on other TV or change it out if you have any doubts.
Q: We need to reboot the box to get it going when we start it every day?
A: The box is set to go " standby" mode when you turn the TV off, but with some TV, we see that it causes problems. So do not forget to turn off the TV box first and then the TV.
Q: My TV is "picks" into pieces?
A: You need to check your Internet speed. Test the example on this page - www.speedtest.net
Remember to take the test while your IP TV box is turned off.
You must have a stable speed of at least 2 Mbps to the running stable. So if the test shows only example 1 mbit, so will your TV picks.
If you have Internet from a wireless service providers, you risk that the speed varies more .So you need to test several times during the day.
Also called Satellite Plate where you NOT receive the signal in via a telephone cable but instead through the air - and they are not good enough every time)
The main culprit for a bad picture or stuttering is the Internet.
So contact your Internet provider. Often you have to grab them several times.
If you have good rate of speed test, but still problems - please write us and ask us if there is no general problem. We receive many inquiries if there is a general problem, so we will always know if there are problems from the TV provider.
Q: Our television writing “page loading error”
A: The box has no Internet access. First check via a PC, phone or tablet if you have Internet, check the cable to your IP TV box.
If you run box via the wireless USB stick, then check that wireless is enabled on your Internet router. On movistar routers can sometimes turn off.
Or try with the absolute best advice that you may have jumped over the top of the page.
Q: Can I record via the box?
A: TV box has no recording function right now, but you can put a hard disk recorder. You must have your TV to stand on while the recording. (IP box goes into standby mode when you turn off the TV)
Q : Can I use my PC or tablets while I use the TV.
A: Yes, you can.
IP TV consumes an average of 1.5 Mbps. So if you have a 6 power. 10 mbit line then you have no problems.
Do you, however, only have 1.5 to 2 Mbps, then you can get interference on the TV while using other devices.
Q : Can I use IP TV via a wireless Internet service provider?
A: Yes, you can. We recommend, however, a " wired " Internet service provider. If you can not get it, then you should be aware that the wireless providers " share " their speed between all of their customers , and it can go beyond your quality.
Q: Can i attach more than one TV?
A: The IPTV can only feed one television at a time. You can of course have as many as you like but each one requires 1.5mb/s.
ChannelBox do offer monthly for a second and third contract.
Q: Can i move the box to another addess?
A: Yes. You can take it where you like - even other countries.
'Q: How does ChannelBox provide the channels?
ChannelBox provide the hardware. The software, channels and monthly payment are over the internet with direct payment to provider.
Q: Does it consume a lot of data?
A. It depends how much television you watch each day, but ChannelBox strongly recommends that you have an unlimited data plan with your internet service provider.
The absolute best advice ( if there are problems ) is to unplug the power connector from the Internet router and plug it back ...... then do the same with the TV box ..... it is important that you do it in that order.
Is it difficult to connect????
NO ....... connection is very simple ...... It's all done with 3 cables, the dealer gives you an instruction in how to do, or making an appointment for installation in your home.
IPTV box may well run wirelessly to your router, but we recommend using a cable.
